Post # 366, Bob McKnight's Florida Commentary
In one month, Rubio has switched to support Negotiations with Dictator Maduro in Venezuela and the Cuban benefactor, Russia.
New U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was previously Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives from 2006-2008. He is a good-looking and articulate Cuban with great potential for the GOP. But early in his term, he fell to the temptations of cutting ethical corners. Allegedly, he directed Department of Transportation contracts to a personal friend. Also, his best friend in the Legislature was felon State Representative David Riviera, a Miamian without principles.
So when Rubio ran for President against Donald Trump, most Floridians expected the former Senator to get rolled. When Trump labeled him "Little Marco," his image tanked.
After Trump won the Presidency in 2016, then Senator Rubio worked hard to win back Trump's favor echoing his nationalistic narrative without as much as a question. No surprise, Trump appointed Rubio to the major Cabinet position, Secretary of State.
Although only in office for a month, Rubio has already flamed out by:
Rubio Switch-A-Roo #1:
After railing at Venezuela's dictator Maduro for years and urging his removal from office Rubio was polite and Trump-obedient in urging Maduro to accept American immigrants.
Rubio Switch-A-Roo #2:
For decades, Putin and the Russians have funded Castro's abuses in Cuba. That has been Rubio's attacking mantra since he got into politics, as well as all the Cuban members of Congress. So what is the first thing Rubio does in Saudi Arabia regarding the Russian attack on Ukraine? Rubio aligned himself with Trump's love-in for Putin and Russia attacking Ukraine. Rubio Switch-A-Roo #2.
Apparently, Rubio's allegiance is to one man, and not to his principles.
Rubio has only been in office a month.
