Most political observers of the "Golden Age of Florida Politics" would probably argue that the most popular member of the Senate was Senator Warren Henderson of Sarasota. Even though he was a member of the Minority Party then, there was none better at working the other side of the aisle, and with his popularity in tack. I had the chance to work with him on the Natural Resources Committees in the House and Senate during my terms, and he was a wonderful mentor and friend. People ask me what is missing today in the Florida Legislature--the answer in a name, is Senator Warren Henderson.
