'Trump fires Bannon...Bannon pledges support to Trump...Bannon bashes Trump Team, including Family...Trump says nothing. Huh?'
Sometimes it just seems impossible to make sense of everything going on in this political world. Look at our President Donald Trump and his former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon. Bannon ran Trump's successful campaign briefly and just after the Inauguration, Trump made the unprecedented appointment of Bannon as a part of the sensitive National Security Council. That appointment was later rescinded, but clearly, Bannon was solidly in Trump's inner circle. Bannon was allegedly later pushed out of the White House by Trump's new Chief of Staff General Kelly, and now is back running the arch-conservative web site, Breitbart News.
Bannon says his plans are to support Trump in any and every way possible. Further, he says he is going after and destroy Republicans who really do not support Trump. Fine. But, what about?
Trump likes and supports his son-in law Jared Kushner.
Trump likes and supports his daughter, Ivanka.
Trump likes and supports his National Security Adviser, General H.R. McMaster
Trump likes and supports his Chief of Staff, General John Kelly.
Trump likes and supported the election of Senator Luther Strange of Alabama, who lost.
Trump said yesterday he likes and supports Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Yet Bannon attacked and continues to attack every one of these people in person and in Breitbart News. Alot. Often. Almost daily.
Trump says nothing? Sounds a little unstable? Yesterday he bragged about how well he gets along with members of Congress, after last week walking around the White House yelling how much he "hates everybody around here.' Huh?
